• Email address — when you sign in or subscribe to Round Here // Weekly. Used to send you a magic sign-in link and/or your weekly newsletter.
• Display name — optional, provided by you when you sign up. Used to personalise your account page.
• Event interactions — which events you have liked, marked as going, or saved to favourites. Stored so your preferences persist across sessions and devices.
• Submitted events — if you submit an event for consideration, we store the details you provide (event name, date, location, description, your name or organisation).

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

• Account access — your email address is used to send a magic sign-in link. We never store your password because we don't use passwords.
• Personalisation — your liked, going and saved events are stored so you can pick up where you left off on any device.
• Round Here // Weekly — if you subscribe, we use your email address to send you a weekly digest of upcoming local events, every Sunday morning. You can unsubscribe at any time.
• Event submissions — we use the details you provide to review and (if approved) publish your event on Round Here.
• Service improvement — aggregate, anonymised usage data helps us understand which events are popular and improve the service.

We do not use your information for any purpose not listed above. We do not use it for advertising, profiling, or automated decision-making.

Newsletter — Round Here // Weekly

If you subscribe to Round Here // Weekly, you are giving us explicit consent to send you one email per week containing a curated list of local events near Winchester.

• We use Buttondown to manage our mailing list and send newsletters. Your email address is stored on Buttondown's servers. You can read Buttondown's privacy policy at buttondown.com/legal/privacy.
• Every newsletter contains a clear, one-click unsubscribe link. You can also unsubscribe at any time by emailing us at [email protected].
• We will never share your email address with event organisers, sponsors, or any third party for marketing purposes.
• We use double opt-in — you will receive a confirmation email before being added to the list.

How We Store Your Data

Your account data — email address, display name, liked events, going events, and saved favourites — is stored securely using Supabase, a cloud database service. Supabase stores data in data centres within the European Union and complies with GDPR. You can read Supabase's privacy policy at supabase.com/privacy.

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you request deletion of your account, we will delete all data we hold about you within 30 days.

Cookies and Local Storage

Round Here uses browser local storage (not cookies) to remember your preferences between sessions — specifically your liked, going and saved events — so that the app feels responsive even before your account data has loaded.

We do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or third-party analytics cookies. We do not use Google Analytics or any similar tracking service.

Sharing Your Favourites

Round Here includes a feature that lets you generate a shareable link to your saved events list. For example: roundhere.app?favs=2,7,14

When you share this link, anyone who opens it can see which events you have saved — but not your name, email address, or any other personal information. The link contains only event ID numbers.

You are in full control of this feature. We do not share your favourites list with anyone unless you actively generate and send the link yourself.

Your Rights Under UK GDPR

Under UK data protection law, you have the following rights:

• Right of access — you can request a copy of all personal data we hold about you.
• Right to rectification — you can ask us to correct any inaccurate data we hold.
• Right to erasure — you can ask us to delete all data we hold about you ("right to be forgotten").
• Right to restrict processing — you can ask us to stop using your data in certain ways.
• Right to data portability — you can request your data in a machine-readable format.
• Right to object — you can object to us processing your data for direct marketing (i.e. the newsletter). We will stop immediately.
